It's also fascinating to study statistics and try to find connections between different things, and the reasons behind them. This is no different with height. As we slowly begin to understand more and more of the factors which play a role in shaping height, the statistics which were previously unclear begin to make more sense.

1) Height by Region - This has been one of the most looked at areas concerning height. With entire regions of the world having significant height advantages over other areas, it seemed like the most obvious way to find the link between height and the factors which affect it. So what is causing this fluctuation in height between different regions?

Genetics of course plays a role, and if a nation has taller people than another, it seems only natural that they'll continue to be taller. This doesn't explain why they became taller in the first place, but that question is difficult to answer without detailed statistics from hundreds or thousands of years ago. Factors we do know that influence height are namely the aforementioned genetics, as well as nutrition. Whether we'll learn more in the future, such as possible environmental effects, isn't known.

2) Growth Spurts - Growth spurts are often quite dramatic, and quite a shock to the people on the outside observing the growth spurt first hand, namely parents. 2. I won't eat pizza, soda, cookies or cake. This will help me stick to my diet plan of 5 balanced meals per day.

3. I plan to eat 5 balanced meals per day. Whenever i go out with friends I'll make good decisions on what I eat.

Goal #1 falls short because they are not concrete and are vague. Goal #2 definitely won't work because Tom says that your mind can't process deletion or words like "won't" or "avoid". So your mind will interpret "I won't eat pizza" as "I eat pizza." The final goal won't work because anything set in future tense is not as powerful as a goal set in the present or as if it's already been accomplished.

Here's how Tom Venuto would have us write our goal: I look fit and lean and feel great about how my wash board abs look. I have achieved 10% body fat by eating 5 meals per day consisting of a lean protein and dark green vegetables. I eat chicken, fish, and egg whites as well as broccoli and spinach.

The above goal will be effective in reprogramming your brain because its written as if the goal has already been accomplished, is specific, and has emotion. Describe how good you'll look once you've achieved the body of your dreams and be specific about what you'll eat and when. If you keep your goals on a 3 x 5 card that you look at frequently throughout the day you'll keep your goals at the forefront of your mind and keep yourself motivated to make good dietary and fitness choices.
