Review about the Sanyo DR6700 Massage Chair

By Steve Esquire

This is a product review of the high end Sanyo DR-6700 massage chair. Sanyo boasts a full line of massage chairs. The DR-6700 is the model just below the DR7700 which is the top of the line model for Sanyo. We will evaluate some of the advanced electronic features and massage functions of the DR 6700. Here is our evaluation of the Sanyo DR6700 massage chair recliner.

We will start with the warranty coverage. We always advise to go with a recognized massage chair brand. These national brands will have adequate warranty coverage and will be quick and responsive if an issue were to arise. You do not want a no-name brand that then does not stock parts and provides poor service, if at all.

Sanyo provides the warranty coverage for the DR-6700 massage chair. The warranty coverage is as follows: You get three years coverage for the roller mechanism. This is the device that provides the massage for your back, neck and shoulders. Otherwise, the rest of the chair gets 1 year for both parts and labor. One good part of the coverage is the one year of in home technician service.

The DR 6700 comes with 4 automatic massage programs. These are one-touch massage programs. They are based around the following themes: Stiffness, Recovery, Fine and Relax. With the touch of a button, the DR6700 will provide a full body massage for the time set. These programs run the whole chair, so all you have to do is sit back and relax.

There are also many manual options for your relaxation needs. If you have a particular trouble spot or area, then you can switch to manual mode and use a manual massage. The manual massage techniques are as follows: Gap, Shiatsu, Kneading, Tapping and Combo. Each of these techniques is specialized with a particular movement to loosen or revitalize tight and sore muscles.

When in manual mode, you can select many different options to suit your needs at that moment. You can adjust the intensity of the massage to be more or less penetrating. You can adjust the width of the rollers for certain manual massages. This lets you get more around the spine or you can get a wider coverage to get the shoulders.

There are even more options on the area of your back that you would like to target. Choose from neck and shoulders, lower back, lower body and quick course. You can select the massage technique that you wish and then have it focus in these regions. This is very helpful if you have stiffness in a particular area.

Sanyo is know for its advanced electronics, are any integrated into the DR-6700 massage chair? Yes, there are some very interesting electronics, such as a stiffness detector. The stiffness detector is based on lie detector technology. It monitors your pulse rate and also your perspiration level. It then feeds this data to the computer which then can identify where then tension is residing in your body and adjusts the massage program.

Need a good lower body massage? This Sanyo model comes equipped with an air compression massage system for the lower body. A compression massage uses a squeezing action to relieve tired, aching muscles. The air compression massage targets the legs, calves and feet. They have also integrated a heater to warm the bottoms of your feet.

The DR-6700 massage chair has some very nice features to compliment its massage therapy. The stiffness detector is certainly unique, but actually pretty effective. Good thing it doesn't ask you questions! The manual massage treatments like the Grip massage are fabulous. We do like the automatic programs that Sanyo has developed. We wish the labor for the warranty coverage was a little longer. Overall, this is a solid massage chair that can meet your long term massage therapy needs. - 17274

Nutrient Supplements and Food for Prostate Health

By Sam G. Simth

Sexual dysfunctions in men are often results of physical disability, especially spinal code injuries or multiple sclerosis. If you encounter these health issues, the last thing one need is to have sexual problems further aggravated by prostate disorders.

Fifty percent of men between the age of 40-59 years old and most elderly men will develop prostate disorders. Out of this, one fourth of 50-years old will have some cancerous cells.

Most common prostate disorders are 1) non cancerous enlargement of prostate 2) the most frequent male malignancy - cancer 3) inflammatory infection called prostatitis. Prostate disorders often affect urination because the gland surrounds the urethra that drains the bladder.

As a result of testosterone decline after age 40, a testosterone variant called dihydrotestosterone (DHT) and the female-associated hormone estrogen increases. Prostate enlargement is aggravated by DHT's cell growth stimulation.

Food and Nutrient Supplement:

Prostate dysfunction has been called a nutritional disease. It is much more common in developed Western countries that emphasize animal-derived foods, such as red meat, dairy products, and eggs, all foods that tend to accumulate environmental toxins. In contrast, fruit- and vegetable-rich diets exert a protective effect.

Calcium in the milk is bad for the prostate. Excessive calcium, apparently suppresses the synthesis of a form of vitamin D that slow down prostate cancer.

Studies have also shown it is less likely to get prostate cancer if men consume tomatoes or tomato-based foods, pink grapefruit and guavas. This is because a powerful antioxidant agent called lycopene from these foods.

Another prostate protecting food is the sugar in the fruit, known as fructose. It helps stimulate the production of a form of vitamin D that slows down the tumors.

Several trace nutrients that are often deficient in our diet also enhance prostate health. For example, a lack of zinc especially affects the prostate because this gland uses it much more than any other body part. Zinc supplementation can reduce prostate enlargement.

Selenium is another often-deficient trace nutrient that is essential for prostate health. Increasing selenium intake, whether through supplements or selenium-rich foods, has been shown to reduce prostate-cancer risk.

Vitamin D; vitamin E - an antioxidant that slows down cancer growth; foods products which contain cancer-inhibiting agent genistein and garlic may slow down prostate cancer. - 17274

Don't Sabotage Your Time In The Gym With These 7 Mistakes

By Victoria Jamison

When you're in the gym, there are a lot of distractions. It seems, these days, my gym time is always battling with other things that can seem more important. When I do finally get in the gym, I'm careful to not waste my time on these 7 items.

1 - Don't work out too much! Sounds contradictory? It's not. I know of people who spend 90 minutes on cardio, then another hour on weights and who knows how much time researching the latest supplements. You're body can only benefit from a certain amount of exercise. Go over that amount and it's all wasted.

2) Stop stopping for too long! You know if you're one of these people. You see a friend walk in the gym who you haven't seen in a while and suddenly your heart rate is too high and you need to rest "for a little bit." Don't stop everytime you have a chance. It's not going to help you reach your goals.

3 - Plan your workouts. Make sure you know what exercises you're going to do, how many reps you'll do of each and how much weight you're going to use. If you're constantly trying to figure things out on the fly, you'll double your time in the gym.

4. Not having a backup plan- There is nothing more frustrating then going to the gym with your plan in hand and someone is already using the machine! Having a backup plan ensures you spend more of your time in the gym exercising and less time feeling frustrated. If someone is using the chest machine, no big deal: Do push-ups instead.

5) Work hard than you think you should. If you're building bulk, you should be doing 8 to 10 reps of each exercise. If you find you're doing more than this before you run out of steam, you need to increase your weights. If you're workouts aren't intense enough, it's going to take a lot longer to get the results you're hoping to see.

6) Form is vital. Doing too many "cheat" reps will kill your time in the gym. Focus on the right form and you'll benefit greatly from every rep. Each time you do an exercise wrong, that's one more wasted rep.

7 - Get a check-up from a professional. If a regular meeting with a personal trainer isn't in your budget, consider having a check up ever 90 days to make sure you're maximizing your time in the gym. A professional trainer will know how to get you through that plateau and on to bigger gains.

If you could only relate to 2 or 3 of those items, don't just brush them aside thinking you're well beyond this information. Take those 2 or 3 things and concentrate on fixing them. It will give you more time away from the gym and increase the quality of your workouts. - 17274

Does human growth hormone slow aging?

By Sam G. Smith

Human growth hormone (HGH) is described by some as the key to slowing the aging process. Before you sign up, get the facts, and understand proven ways to promote healthy aging.

Pituitary gland produces the growth hormone in your body. This glad is a pea-sized structure at the base of the brain. Childhood growth is fueled by this gland and it maintains tissues and organs throughout life. Growth hormone production slowly reduces starting in middle age. Because of this, synthetic HGH has received popularity in slowing down the aging process. However, there's little evidence to suggest synthetic human growth hormone can help otherwise healthy adults regain youth and vitality

Studies of adults who have a growth hormone deficiency show that human growth hormone can

Increase bone density

Increase muscle mass

Increase exercise capability

Increase exercise capability

Approval has been granted to treat AIDS or HIV related muscle wasting with human growth hormone.

In healthy older adults, human growth hormone can increase muscle mass and reduce the amount of body fat. But increase in muscle doesnt translate in increase in strength. In fact, researchers have found that strength training is a cheaper more effective way to increase muscle mass and strength. It isnt clear HGH may provide other benefits to healthy adults.

Human growth hormone injection will lead to following side effects:

Swelling in the arms and legs

For men enlargement of breast tissue (gynecomastia)

Joint Pain

For men enlargement of breast tissue (gynecomastia)

Some research suggests that side effects of injecting human growth hormone treatments may be more likely in older adults than in younger adults.

Human growth hormones can cost thousands of dollars.

What is the bottom line?

If you have specific concern about aging, ask your doctor about ways to improve your health. Remember, eating nutritious foods, controlling portion size and including physical activities in your daily routine can help you stay healthy and strong as you get older. - 17274

Diabetes Weight Loss Diet

By Dan Reto

The problems of diabetes can be treated to diminish symptoms if the proper steps are taken. More and more individuals are suffering from diabetes yearly, and it is important for people (both diabetics and non diabetics) to control their eating and workout habits.

Exercise aids your body in using insulin more effectively so that your bodies' glucose is converted into energy for cells. Now, aside from exercising, as mentioned before, it is essential to keep a healthy diet for diabetics. People with diabetes tend to notice that they gain weight much easier than people who do not have diabetes. No worries though, as there are diets that can help you.

Broadly Speaking, diabetics should try to have about 1200 calories per day. This is just an estimation though, and may vary depending on factors such as age, sex, size, etc It is also important to eat very regularly. Do not go on for more than 3 to 4 hours without eating.

This will help keep your hunger down throughout the day. This is much better than not eating for 10 hours and then end up having a feast. On another note, it is crucial to have at least 45 minutes to an hour worth of exercise each day, or at the least 5 times a week (for those who have a busy schedule).

Try to select a diet that is healthy for you. Do not pick something that you know you will not be able to go through with. A diet takes dedication, and realistically, some diets are VERY hard to follow, so make sure it is something you can stick with. It is important to not give up if you do not see results after a couple of weeks. Diets are not meant to show big results within weeks. Diets take time to work, so do not give up! - 17274

Should You Use A Diet Delivery Service?

By Susan Reynolds

If you are not yet familiar with the new term 'diet delivery', it is a fairly new development in the weight loss market that supplies a chef, dietition and a personal shopper in one package, all designed with one goal in mind, to help you lose those added pounds. You can receive valuable help from a diet delivery service, even specifically designed programs to your specifications, because they understand how difficult it can be to stick to a plan.

All the meals that are prepared, are low in fat and calories, but all are nutritionally balanced. Your daily meal will be prepared by an expert chef, who understands your nutritional needs while you are trying to lose weight. Your only requirement, once the food has been delivered to your door, is to decide when throughout the day you will enjoy it. Are you starting to see why having your meals delivered to you every day could be the best thing you ever did to finally start to lose weight?

Smaller diet delivery services can usually tailor a diet to your personal needs, rather than the larger, more corporate services who have set menus. This means that if you want to cut certain sugars or foods out of your diet, or there are particular foods you want to put into your diet, you can ask for these variations in your diet plan. You can make requests for completely different foods if you become tired with the plan and want to substitute other foods that will still be inline with your calorie intake. It is all a painless process that helps you become slimmer, makes life easier and the huge benefit that your food will be tastier!

There is the concern of cost when you join a diet delivery service. They can run anywhere from $30 a day on up. Some plans include five meals per day delivered before 6am, while others only include three meals. You also have to remember that sometimes delivery charges are not included in your daily meals price. You should prepare yourself to be completely committed to the diet program you join or else it is wasted money down the drain.

Using some form of diet delivery service has proven to be a beneficial method for those tough dieters, as well as for folks that lead a life where cooking is impossible. Youll find that many of the diet delivery companies only provide service to certain areas. The bigger corporate businesses deliver more regionally. If youve got the money, and a wish to commit yourself to losing weight, then using a diet delivery service could be just the ticket for you. - 17274
