Epoxy Pipe Lining Can Prevent Lead Contamination

During the 19th and early 20th century lead was widely used in major U.S. cities for water pipes because of its durability and malleability. Lead pipes were eventually superseded by galvanized steel and copper, and copper pipe became the predominant material selected for domestic water service and distribution in post-World War II residential construction.

Lead contamination, caused by pipe corrosion and erosion, was the major source of lead-related health problems in the years before the health hazards of ingesting lead were fully understood. Two of the most serious health problems were stillbirth and high rates of infant mortality. If you have lead in your water, it?s generally because of one (or more) of these: lead-based solder which used to be the primary way to join copper pipes, a lead service line pipe linking your house to the city or town water main, and brass (or chrome-plated brass) faucets. The U.S. Congress banned the use of lead solder containing greater than 0.2% lead in 1986. It also limited the lead composition of pipes, faucets, and all other plumbing materials to 8.0%.? As a result of this legislation, ?lead-free? brass legally can contain no more than 8% lead and plumbing installed before 1986 possibly contain higher levels of lead.

Water lines from the city or town water main to a home or building?s water system may be a lead pipe in older structures. If you or a previous owner of the structure had your plumbing system upgraded since 1960, it?s probably composed of galvanized pipe. Galvanized pipe doesn?t need lead solder to be joined. Faucets need to be checked for brass or chrome-plating, you?re the original manufacturer, a local hardware store, or a licensed plumber should be able to tell you if yours contain either.

If you have lead contamination from your pipes, epoxy lining can be your solution. Once installed it is a barrier to lead leaching into your drinking water. The epoxy lining prevents the metal of the pipe and the water flowing through from coming into direct contact. This prevents the chemical reaction that causes pipe corrosion. Genes do play a part in your shape and size, but if you are using this as an excuse for poor eating habits, a bad diet, no exercise and lack of motivation, then you may not be able to lose the weight you want.

It is true that your genetic make-up controls how many fat cells are going to be in your body, but just because you have fat cells does not mean that you have to stuff them with food. Some of you may have tried several programs and found then to not work.

Here are 4 reasons why the programs may not have worked.

#1: Your Program Isn't Working Every Muscle

Have you ever trained on weight lifting machine? They only work one muscle. These machines are a major reason why the programs do not work. They don't give the ability to develop many muscles together, which would be the best way to train. Free weights let you do compound exercises, letting you build many muscles at once. You will be able to perform squats and dead lifts which will be very beneficial to many muscles. Using free weights allows you to develop stability and also strengthen your joints. They are all around better for you.

#2: Keep it short

You may have received your program from someone who was using the program daily, for hours on end, that may have lived in the gym daily. If you are looking for the short program, an hour or less for a few times a week, this program will take you that much longer in order to develop the goods. You need to find something that will be beneficial no matter how much time you have. This could be solved by using more weight with less reps and sets. This is much faster and more beneficial than those long, muscle straining programs out there that work your muscles to death and leave you in pain the for the next two days.

#3: You are Not Incorporating Enough Intensity

You don't need to waste time, and you probably don't want to. So, why not make it worth your time? Make sure you lift a significant amount of weight, around the average of 80-85% of your one rep max. Muscle building programs using less weight, with more reps and sets will be a waste of time as your muscle gaining will plane out, and you could potentially see negative results.

#4: More Recuperation During and After Workouts

During and after work outs, resting is important for your muscles to build. Instead of rushing to your next workout to get done faster, plan in more time and rest longer between exercises. This will give your muscles time to refresh and prepare for your next work out and put less strain on them.

After your work out, leave some time in your busy schedule to take a nap. This will give your body time to attend to your muscles. This could make or break your workouts' results. Also, at night, get as much sleep as you can, around 8 hours or more if possible. Make sure to relax during your day. Less stress will result in more muscle and better performance.
