Achieve Great Six Pack Abs with the Best Muscle Building Routines

If you ever spend any amount of time in front of the TV after midnight, you are bound to see some infomercials. A good portion of those are probably promoting ab-related products. You'll see machines, pills, fad diets, and workouts that promise to give you that six-pack of your dreams. While there is no shortage of theories, do any of them really work?

In fact, most of these fads don't last. They're exposed for the fakes they are and people go onto the next "quick fix" or "breakthrough invention" that's going to give them the abs they want without much work. But if most of these fail, is there a way to truly get flat abs? Can you, really, get flat abs if you don't have them now?

Well, yes, you can, but you're not going to like what it is if you think "quick fixes" are the way to go. In fact, the best way to get flat abs or to get that sixpack is with something that's been tested time and again and found to be effective. That is, you have to adopt a healthy diet and you have to exercise.

In other words, there's no shortcut to getting the body you want. You might find a way to drop a few pounds quickly, but they'll likely come on again just as quickly as they came off if this is the approach you take.

So okay, that's settled. You have to exercise. What types of exercises should you do, though? Should you just start doing a thousand crunches a day? Will this give you the abs you want? It will -- but not at first.

That's because your ab muscles are probably covered by a layer of fat. So if you want to see your abs, you have to get rid of the fat. How do you do this?

Most people believe they have to do a lot of cardio, such as you might experience on the treadmill. However, this is a common (and incorrect) misconception, too. The best way to burn fat quickly, in fact, is by doing weight training and interval training.

With weight training, you burn calories quickly while you work out, but you're building muscle, so you're going to burn calories when you rest as well. As muscles begin to develop, they're going to be burning extra calories, like little incinerators, so that they can keep rebuilding themselves. This will speed up your fat burning capacity, which in turn will decrease the amount of time it takes to burn a certain amount of fat off. Besides weight lifting or weight training, you can also do short bursts of sprinting-type workouts thrown in there, too.

And of course, you should also try to eat healthier. If you're always sitting on the couch, drinking beer and eating nachos, you're not going to get that sixpack.

If you want different results, you are going to have to do different things. To get that sixpack, you're going to have to change what you eat. Eat healthy foods and drink a lot of water. If you put good food into your body, it will give you what you want.

In short, it's pretty "simple" to obtain a sixpack, but it's not easy. You're not going to wake up tomorrow with your abs in full view, and you are going to have to work to get them that way. This can take quite a while, depending on how much weight you have to lose to begin with. But do know that you can do this if you stick with it and keep the progress coming. - 17274

My First Attempt At Acai Berry Recipes

It's difficult to find acai berry recipes. I'm a big fan of Rachel Ray, and she recently featured the acai berry on one of her shows, so I thought for sure that I could find some Rachel Ray acai berry recipes online. But after a few days of searching, I decided that I should just start inventing some of my own.

My most popular dish at home is a baked chicken breast with a spicy citrus marinade, so I thought perhaps I could invent a chicken dish with acai berry juice substituted in for one of the citrus juices I normally use. As long as I kept my marinade time the same as usual (at least 6 hours in the refrigerator), I thought I couldn't go wrong trying out a citrus acai marinade.

I cut the chicken breast into strips and pour acai juice and some extra virgin cold pressed olive oil over the pieces. In an effort to cut the sweetness, I added some sea salt and crushed capers. The result was interesting and got fairly good reviews. I didn't like it as much as my stand by marinades so I won't be likely to repeat this recipe. Also I ended up tossing much of the acai goodness down the drain which entirely defeats the health benefits of acai berry juice. Additionally, acai is more expensive than lime juice or orange juice so it was a slightly expensive experiment.

So my next recipe was a variation on another favorite of mine, and I hoped it would turn out better than the chicken experiment. In fact it did meet with very positive reviews. This is my own version of acai berry frozen yogurt. Mix acai berry juice with a non-flavored low fat yogurt. Then set a strainer and cheese cloth in a bowl, pour through the yogurt, put it in the fridge and let it drain through the yogurt for a day. Once the yogurt has drained, you are left with a cream cheese like mixture, which in fact is quite good as a spread or dip at this point.

I continued with the frozen yogurt recipe and peeled the creamy acai berry yogurt from the cheesecloth into a plastic container. Whip the yogurt with a whisk for several minutes to lighten it up, and then throw it in the freezer. After 8 hours it should be frozen enough to try. I just loved this recipe! It was a perfect mixture of the acai berry juice and frozen yogurt so that it wasn't overly sweet like ice cream would be. I think a good variation would be to put the yogurt mixture into Popsicle cups so you have individual servings ready to eat on the go.

The last and most obvious recipe was an acai berry smoothie. I added ice, two frozen bananas, some plain low fat yogurt, and 1.5 cups of acai berry juice to the blender. Predictably, it was excellent. Smoothie recipes are almost fool proof. Don't forget to add a little wheat germ to smoothies to add some invisible protein and fibre to your smoothie recipes.

With a little imagination acai can be incorporated into many different recipes. Without much thought I was able to create a main course, desert and a smoothie. Although Rachel Ray acai berry recipes do not seem to currently exist I will continue looking and in the meantime I will be creating and writing about my own recipes. - 17274

Stress seems to be building or a more each day. This is perhaps a sign of the new times. It just seems everything is a little more stressful now. You may begin to recognize some of the signs of stress occurring to you. The first step we must take is to become aware that we are under stress. Otherwise, the stress continues to build and will take its toll on our physical bodies. If we become aware that we are under increasing stress, then we can begin to take countermeasures to relieve its damaging effects.

One common thing that differentiates stress from other issues is that it tends to accumulate in just one area. Some people may find that they get stress knots or backaches or stiffness in the shoulders and neck. The body is reacting to the stress put on it. The stress needs to be released from the body or it continues to increase.

To begin to recognize stress, we first have to become aware that it is building. Stress tends to build up in the body with a physical symptom. If a counter measure is taken early, then these symptoms can be relieved quickly. Otherwise, it will continue to build unchecked and cause more damage.
