It's Day 18 on HCG

I have to start by saying that my 18th day on the HCG diet starting off quite pleasantly. My weight went down. It was just one pound down, but after being stuck at 156 it was just lovely to see the weight change! Plateaus are horrible!

I woke up with the birds this morning; literally. The chirping and chatter they were making dragged me out of a sound sleep. I wasn't very happy about it. I'm a little surprised that I remembered to get right on the scale first thing since I was so bugged at the early wake up call. So the scale said I was at 155. And as I already noted...that was lovely.

I took my B-Total first (yeah extra energy) and then took my HCG. I had some Green Tea. It's still yucky, but it does help me lose weight so I put up with it!

I focused on lots of water drinking all morning. I had several huge glasses before lunch. Then I had the leftover soup from last night (chicken asparagus). I'm probably starting to sound really boring because I eat the same stuff so often, but this particular soup is really, really yummy. It's my new favorite.

I allowed myself to have Melba Toasts today since I was able to break my plateau. They were perfect with my soup at lunch. I had an apple for an afternoon snack (I cut it up and drizzled lemon on it). It's a fabulous trick.

Dinner was another leftover: steak from yesterday's lunch. I had Spicy 3 Pepper Melba Toasts with it as well as a handful of strawberries and sliced tomato. I used this new dressing on it that seems to be HCG appropriate: Maple Grove Farms of Vermont's Balsamic Vinaigrette. If you are eating 2 servings per day, then go up to 4 servings per day by the end of the week. And even if you think you are doing great by having 5 servings per day, you still need to double that (take 2-3 weeks to work your way up to 10 servings per day).

Consume fiber-rich fruits and vegetables.

Nuts are also a good choice, but not the roasted in oils ones (they may be source of trans fats). Stick to natural or dry-roasted nuts.

Small amounts of nuts will fill you up and help you lose weight, it will not be enough to make you fat.

5) No pain, no gain.
