It's my 20th Day on HCG!

By Amelia Handley

It feels so good to say that I'm on Day 20 of my 25 day HCG therapy for weight loss program. Although I have to point out that even after the 25 day program is complete I still need to stick to the requirements set forth for the maintenance diet. According to the HCG therapy for weight loss protocol the maintenance portion has to be followed for twenty six additional days.

But still...Day 20 sounds utterly fabulous! And I'm going to go with the utterly fabulous feeling today. I got on the scale this morning and I stayed the same. But my jeans are lose and I need to go buy a belt so I'm not in the least depressed that I've stayed the same for a day.

I took my B-Total and then took my first dose of HCG. I took my other two doses of HCG as I normally do; right before lunch and right before dinner. I've become really accustomed to the schedule of not eating/drinking for 15 minutes before I take it and then not eating or drinking anything for 15 minutes afterwards. I thought I'd hate that and mess it up all the time, but it wasn't as difficult as I imagined.

I went out to buy a new blender (since my old one broke months ago) because I really like the sound of some of the smoothie recipes in the HCG Diet Direct Cookbook. The first one I decided to try was Orange Slush. I made it for lunch along with grilled chicken, asparagus and Melbas. I really like the slush and know the kids will love it, too. I immediately decided they could have it for breakfast before school tomorrow.

For dinner I had baby spinach (the way it is presented in the HCG Diet Direct cookbook) with Melba Toasts and more grilled chicken. I remembered before I had chicken twice in a row that I'm supposed to have different proteins for lunch and dinner, but I did it anyway. I guess I was feeling a tad lazy and didn't want to cook knowing I had leftover chicken in the fridge.

I realized after the kids were in bed that I missed my fruit at dinner so I whipped together another Orange Slush. The blender disturbed the kids, of course, and they ended up coming out for some Orange Slush dessert. They loved it. I didn't have to wait until the morning to try it out on them after all. - 17274
