Food Journal Can Help In Achieving Permanent Weight Loss

It is so helpful to keep a weight loss journal if you are serious of losing weight. How can journaling help you in weight loss?

The answer is pretty easy. Just imagine that you are going home late after a hard day's work at office. You are not in the mood to cook.

So what do you do in such a situation? You just grab some fast food from a nearby restaurant. This is easier than going home and cooking dinner.

But you forget that to overcome temporary inconvenience of cooking, you will suffer in long term loss by gaining unwanted weight. It is easy to overlook the long term effect and go for quick solutions to temporary problems.

However, if you have the habit of maintaining a journal then you will write down that today you have eaten some unhealthy food just to avoid cooking. After a day or two when you look back at your journal, you will feel ashamed.

You will start feeling guilty and will make renewed resolution to not let this happen again. Without a journal, this habit is difficult to break.

Write down every small and big thing in your journal related to your fitness. You have to mention what you are eating everyday, exercises you are doing, sleeping habits etc.

The journal should contain anything that relates to fitness and can have a direct or indirect impact on your weight. If you indulge in binge eating or overeating at any particular time, that should also go into your journal.

Doing this regularly will help you in getting stronger and more disciplined. With time, you will be able to stick more easily to your resolutions and carry out whatever efforts are needed to lose weight.

Weight loss can get really easy by maintaining a daily journal. You can eliminate your bad habits one by one just by becoming more aware of them. This awareness and realization will come by periodically checking out your journal and reviewing your past activities.
