How To Get A Flat Stomach The Right Way

By Jose Loni

The best way to get a flat stomach is with exercise. Regular exercise, training with increased intensity and interval training are key factors to getting a flat stomach. By increasing the frequency of exercise, intensity of your exercise program and incorporating interval sets, an oxygen debt will occur causing the body to increase its metabolism and burn fat longer.

The goal is to build and develop muscles through exercise. The more lean body mass that we have, the more calories are used up as energy from our food intake, as well as from excess body fat, since muscles need more fuel to function.

Disciplined, daily physical activities allow our bodies to get used to a certain level of movement and metabolic activity. Moving around more raises our metabolic activity as compared to not moving much. Therefore, when we're always active, our metabolic activity will stay raised just to keep up with our activities.

An intensive workout is determined by training within our target heart rate zone. Training within that intensity will yield the best results because our body is made to work harder, allowing us to get a flat stomach faster.

Training in bursts of energy raises our metabolism by constantly challenging our muscles to work at a higher level to meet the sudden bursts in energy demand. Because the muscles are constantly being unexpectedly called to work and perform, they are in a state of preparation rather than rest, and therefore, use up more fuel in the form of excess fats.

Resistance training while doing intervals has also shown to be highly effective in burning fat. Once again, train with resistance in quick intense bursts of activity and then allow the muscles to rest and recuperate. Repeat this cycle several times. The muscles will now require more fuel and nutrients to maintain the intense activity.

What occurs in the muscles is an oxygen debt, where the muscles are working so hard that there is an increase in carbon dioxide in the muscles, which results in increased lactic acid in the muscles. During recovery, the muscles are so depleted of oxygen, the body's blood system increases supply of oxygen, to clear away waste products and provide nourishment to the muscles.

Thus, getting a flat stomach the right way involves daily physical activity, high intensity training and training in quick bursts of energy. These types of exercise raise our metabolism and allow our body to burn excess body fat very well, resulting in a flat stomach. - 17274
