I don't know what others have told you, but I can say this for sure, if you follow the right strategies and techniques, it won't be hard to eliminate that extra fat! But don't eat more than your normal diet, or eat even when you are not hungry. You should break down your large meals into smaller meals and spread them out throughout the day.

Most people do eat three large meals a day. This will cause your metabolism to slow down and body fat to increase! The best way to eat is as I said above, separate the larger meals into smaller meals and eat every couple of hours.
