There are people who are too busy with their jobs and daily activities that they barely have the time to eat their meals properly. They always tend to hurry eating their food and they usually prefer foods that are fast and easy to eat. This is also a common thing among children and teens. They only want fast foods or foods that don't contain the right nutrition they need everyday.

Eating healthy foods is necessary to keep you and your family in good and healthy condition. They will provide all the energy you will need for your daily activities. You must make it a point that all the members of your family eat their meals on time.

It is not advisable to skip any of these meals especially the breakfast which is the most important meal of the day.For you to be able to provide them with healthy foods, you must make sure that you are familiar with the basic food groups that are included in the food pyramids. By looking at the food pyramid diagram, you could learn which type of foods you should give to your family so they will get the proper nutrition they need.

You could even make your own nutrition pyramid by following the food pyramid guide. Make a blank food pyramid and label it as my food pyramid. Then list some of the foods that belong to each of the 5 basic food groups.

Ensure that any changes reflect the guide that has been set out by nutritional experts. The food pyramid is expected to contain carbohydrates rich foods like cereals, bread, rice, corn, pasta and oatmeal. Foods made from grains such as wheat can also be grouped under here.

The 5 basic food groups include proteins, carbohydrates, fruits, vegetables and dairy. Proteins which are important for healthy muscles, are found in meat, fish, eggs and cheese, carbohydrates are obtained from breads, cereals, pasta and rice. Vegetables and fresh fruits are important for minerals, vitamins and fiber which helps clean the body of toxins.

They also have natural antioxidants to keep you looking younger and healthier. You should also include dairy products as part of your daily meals especially for your breakfast. Dairy products are rich in calcium which is good for the bones and teeth. You can get calcium from milk, cheese, and yogurt.

Foods rich in protein such as pork, chicken meat, beef, and fish are also essential for muscle building. You could also include beans, nuts, and legumes that are also rich in protein. And don't forget that "good" fats and oils are also important for your nutrition and health. - 17274
