Most people are more concerned on quick weight loss. I'm sorry to burst the bubble, but healthy and permanent weight loss takes time. If you are serious about weight loss and maintaining that ideal weight, it is important for you to set realistic goals.

People that want quick weight loss usually jump to fad dieting and weight loss pills. Yes, some pounds will be lost with these methods, but is not fat loss. With most of the fad diets, you will lose more water and muscles than fat. Sooner or later you will regain the weight will return as weight loss under those methods is seldom permanent. Plus, it is very unhealthy!

Don't aim to have a body like Jessica Alba or Victoria Beckham; remember that they have doctors, chefs, trainers and the money to help them.

Besides, you should focus on what is right for you. You don't need to be like them. To become healthy, lose enough weight so that you can reach your ideal body weight! All you need to do is to eat right and exercise. What you don't need is fad diets or to starve yourself.

So, forget about the word 'dieting' and focus on healthy eating instead! For example, replace your daily soda drinks with water; this way, you will be able to quench your thirst without getting any fatter. Do not be fooled by 'diet' or 'low-calorie soft drinks. These drinks contain low amounts of fructose which make you crave for sugar.

Another simple replacement would be whole grain wheat instead of white flour. Whole grain is full has a lot of protein and fiber. It contains little fat and will surely contribute to your weight loss efforts!

I also mentioned to exercise for permanent weight loss. Weight training is one of the best exercises for quick weight loss. Do not buy into the stereotype that weight training is only for men.

If you are worried about getting too bulky, know that bodybuilders aren't able to build muscles just by doing exercises. Protein shakes, supplements and steroids are also used. Besides, the presence of a hormone called testosterone is important if one wants to build huge muscles like bodybuilders.

Exercise has many other healthy benefits as well. You will have more energy; you get this extra energy by burning your fat deposits. You will also feel better overall as you will be able to sleep more soundly.
