In order to get those ripped chest muscles one of the things you are going to have to do is lose the layer of fat which lies over them. This is responsible for making people look flabby and giving man boobs.

This article is going to look at how to reduce calorie intake. Overall all, in order to reduce this layer of fat you are going to need to reduce your calorie intake and burn off those excess calories.

Most diets you will find on the book shelves often claim to be the best one and sometimes the claims of how much weight you can lose can often be quite outrageous. They all come down to one main theme, however, which is lowering calorie intake. The biggest problem most people find is that it is often difficult to stay motivated on these diets and most people soon lose interest and stop. It takes a change in lifestyle that can be maintained in order to lose fat effectively.

Mainting the motivation is the key that most people aim for. Setting a number of shorter term goals is the best way to approcah this rather than one big goal. The same can be said for many sporting disciplines where the ultimate goal can be reached by achieving smaller short term goals. A good example is in distance running. Over a period of time you would aim for slightly faster times over a period of months until you reach that competition winning time.

What I have found to work best is to set a short term goal, for about four pounds weight loss, over a four week period. Now this might not sound a lot compared to many of those diet programs that claim you can get rid of fourteen pounds in a month. However, with a lot of of these crash dieting plans is that it is easy to become demotivated and also as a result of the slowing of the body's metabolic rate it becomes more difficult to lose weight.

If you could lose four pounds in weight over a twelve month time period, which is easily achievable, then that would be a massive forty eight pounds in twelve months. These quite small gains soon add up into one big gain. At the end of each month I often set the target for the next month with a plan for future goals which I find goes a long way to keeping me motivated.
