Juvenile Diabetics Get Benefits from a Fish
Sometimes big problems just need simple solutions. Isn't that great? According to the latest research, there is a very simple solution that can help in the prevention of juvenile diabetes for children all over the world ? and this simple solution is known as salmon!
Research conducted by the Norwegian Institute of Health reveals that children who were given cod liver oil (relax, I'll talk about salmon later) while they were still very young, are at 25% lesser at risk to juvenile diabetes; quite a significant number. The result of this research was viewed as very important that it was published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition.
The Scientists who studied these results believe that the anti inflammatory capabilities of omega 3 fatty acids in some fishes that contain high amounts of EPA and DHA are the ones responsible for this. Oh that was quite a mouthful, but it can work wonders. Salmon happens to be the biggest source of EPA and DHA. (Like I told you I'd get to salmon!)
In the two types of diabetes ? type 1 and type 2, the body is not able to produce insulin or store glucose properly thus, causing problems in the blood sugar. The type 2 diabetes is often seen amongst adults. But lately, because more and more people are developing bad health habits and poor lifestyle, children are also getting the type 2 diabetes.
Juvenile diabetes, or also known as the type 1 diabetes normally begins in childhood or adolescence. With this type of diabetes, the insulin production stops, hence the need for daily insulin injections. These insulin injections have complications though, and within 15 years of the onset of diabetes, an estimate of 80% of patients ends up having major eye damage. Some may experience kidney failure and may need dialysis. But the scariest thing is 35% of juvenile diabetics' die of heart attack as they reach the age of 50.
It can really be remarkable how omega 3 fish can save lives of diabetics. Years ago, research has already begun proving that EPA and DHA can give lots of health benefits including the management of type 2 diabetes. The latest research however reveals that it can also be used for type 1 diabetes. It can make you so happy that you may want to kiss a fish.(Or on second thought!)
Do you know that EPA and DHA are sourced from cold water fish, like cod and salmon? The salmon that is found at the Arctic Ocean waters is said to have the purest and most potent omega 3. Because the most common cause of the type 1 diabetes is an autoimmune disease, scientist are convinced that the anti-inflammatory properties of the omega 3 found in fish oil is what helps prevent juvenile diabetes.
Mothers who take in fish oil during pregnancy and lactation give their babies life-long of health benefits. The EPA and DHA in fish oil improve the baby's nervous system, hearing and vision. Omega 3 fish oil is also essential in the development of a baby's brain and produces intelligent babies according to research.
If you want to have a smart, strong and healthy child, I recommend that you make sure your family has plenty of cold water fish in their diet and add high amounts of omega 3 salmon oil to it. - 17274
